Here is a rare and special old lantern. Made for the U.S. Navy by the Dietz company in September, 1908, this solid brass hand lantern was designed to be a NAVY Standard Deck Lantern. It is in restored condition showing a few shipboard bangs and small dents.
The glass globe is in perfect condition and marked Dietz Vesta New York.
Truly a lantern collector's dream, this one is a rare find.
The lantern is 11 inches high to the top of the lantern, 17 inches high with the hoop up, and 5 inches in diameter.
