F. W. Lincoln Jr. Co. was a noted Boston nautical instrument maker from 1817 to 1898.He also served as Boston's mayor from 1859 to 1863!
Here is one of Lincoln's small ship dry card box compasses. Most likely from the 1870s due to the style of card. In beautiful condition fitted into a custom wooden box of the same vintage. Compass is 4 inches in diameter and box is 7 inches by 7 inches and 5 3/4 inches high.
Rare collector item which could be in a museum exhibit.
The mahogany compass box is 12" x 12" x 6" high. Compass is 7" in diameter.
This specific item is an ideal gift or collector item for the nautical collector.
