C4 1909 RARE and 112 Year Old Chelsea Clock
CHELSEA COLLECTORS! RARE CLOCK LOVERS!
Here is a rare opportunity to acquire one of Chelsea's finest. A fine rose brass cased 1909 8 inch face Chelsea Ship's Bell clock. It has been fully restored and is now keeping accurate time and perfect ship's bell sequences. This beautiful 112-year-old clock's ship bell chimes still ring with that great Chelsea tone. Eight day wind with a hinged bezel, this clock is museum quality.
The rose brass case had had the 112-year-old tarnished lacquer removed and then highly polished, restoring the original beauty.
Generations passed and the exact history of this old Chelsea is a bit sketchy. What we know is it came from a Pacific Northwest family fishing business and the clock commanded the firm's offices for decades. After many years the clock was discovered boxed in a grandfather's garage. Luck brought it to Cuttysark Nautical Antiques, a long time Chelsea dealer. We recognized the rareness of the 112-year-old clock and its need for restoration. We worked with an antique clock lover and expert repairman to replace a part, clean and adjust the works while we took care of the rose brass case.
Now ready to move to its next owner, careful and protected shipping will be our highest concern.
Insurance and shipping will have to be determined when we know the location of the clock's new home. Please email your interest and a phone number to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will call to discuss the shipping.
