Straight from the U.K.! A standard Royal Navy Tell Tale compass in its original mahogany shipping box, heavy leather strap included. These compasses are designed to be mounted over the Captain's bunk so he or she can look up and see the ship's heading. This is a fine nautical navigation instrument.
A great piece of British naval gear, the compass has a five inch face and keeps the original Royal Navy gray non-magnetic paint. Included are the detailed drawings by the RN engineering department showing their design for a overhead mount. It is very complicated so we had our shop produce a simple very heavy solid brass ceiling mount.
The mahogany travel box is 10" x 10" x 6"
