This salty old, copper housed WWII era lifeboat compass was used by the U.S. Navy.

Copper lifeboat binnacle house has a squish mark on the top near the handle and the inside is pretty salty showing its age.
Compass card is 5 inches in diameter, binnacle is 8 1/2 inches tall and 9 inches wide.
