This is a beautiful old US Navy WWII Brass Ship's Wheel, likely from a Liberty Ship. These wheels all had hand turned wooden handles, one of which you will see is a tiny bit bent. (Shown in the full wheel photo on the left)
Wheel is 42 inches from spoke to spoke, the shaft opening is 1 1/4".
