This is a wonderful Ritchie made "banana" compass in excellent condition.
This compass is from the owners personal collection. When researching this instrument Ritchie said the "507" serial number was in the files that were lost in a fire but that number would be from the mid-1800's,
Compass is liquid filled and the card is 6 1/2 inches in diameter from the mid-1800's, dovetailed box is 11 inches x 11 inches x 6 1/2 inches. No box top is included since it was most likely lost many many years ago.
