This is an old Negus of New York made Taffrail Log or small boat Patent Log. The register has a 2 inch face and heavy wire sling. The spinner or rotator is 6 1/2 inches, with a led sinker and old line is included in the original old box.
This old set has considerable use on salt water and with all the original pieces is a true collector piece. The old cardboard box is 10 inches x 4 inches x 4 inches. We date it 1920-1940.
