This British Royal Navy Box Compass by Sestrel of Barking & London is in excellent condition. These "Dead Beat" compasses are the highest quality and used by the Royal Navy as late as the 1970's.
Compass card is 4 inches in diameter, dovetailed box is 8 inches x 8 inches x 5 1/2 inches.
Sestrel was a very important supplier to the Royal Navy, and the brand name of Henry Browne & Son Ltd.
