This is a great old Chas. C. Hutchinson Box Compass made it Boston, Mass. It is over 100 years old and has a Ritchie Boston U.S.A. Card on it. This wonderful old piece has a dome style inside and would have originally been painted white with egg whites.
The outside reads "#62162". It is now a dry card compass.
The old mahogany dovetailed box is original and has the lid but shows an age crack in the lid.
Compass card is 7 inches in diameter.
Box is 11 inches x 11 inches x 16 inches.
