Cuttysark Nautical Antiques is proud to specialize in old Ship's lanterns and lights.  We delight in finding rare old brass, copper or galvanized lanterns, often in very "salty" condition but with excellent lenses.  We make the decision to either restore the fixture to its original shiny glory or to just give it a quick clean up while maintaining the weathered appearance.  If the lantern has its old burner we tend to leave it that way.  If the oil font is missing or if the light has old wiring, we usually re-wire it with a new socket because many of our customers prefer the lanterns to be electrified.  Our long experience enables us to do the wiring without destroying the antique quality and to add just the right lighting system to give a beautiful decorator look.  We really love ship's lanterns because they add an easy tough when creating a nautical feel to any home.

L145  Beautiful and Rare Pair of Boesch 1880's Running Lights with "Hoop Top" handles.   Price: $1200 Description: 15 inches to the top of the hoop L26 Beautiful Restored Bronze U.S.L.H.S. Light   This RARE light is marked United States Light House Service (U.S.L.H.S.) also known as the Bureau of Lighthouses, the agency of the United States Federal Government that was responsible for maintaing and upkeep of all of the lighthouses in the United States from the time of its creation in 1910 until 1939. This particular light has been fully restored and polished.  The heavy bronze metal is back to showing its original luster.  Manufactured by Lovell Company in Arlington, New Jersey this rare nautical antique is equipped with its original ruby red, crack free, fresnal lens.  We have wired this light with a blinker bulb to replicate its original use as a navigational marker.   Additional measurements: 24 1/2 " high to the top point of the light and 10 " diameter.
